February 2010 - Scioto Valley
Scioto Valley Local School District proudly announces the launch of its new web site powered by eSchoolView.  The web site contains many new features to help keep stakeholders informed about events and initiatives at the district.

The new website offers easy navigation.  From the home page, visitors can easily access all the school building’s web sites, view a calendar of upcoming events, or quickly read about the latest district news.  Parents and students will also have their own links that take them to content tailored to address their questions and needs. Parents can access a link from the home page to Progress book, the district’s online grading system, so they can check on their children’s progress anytime.

The district is excited to be using eSchoolView’s content management system because it allows multiple people to update the site.  “Our district chose eSchoolView as a solution to the problem of how to get web content online accurately and in a timely manner. eSchoolView’s CMS program allows all staff members to easily add content to our website without having to know the nut and bolts of Web Design or programming,” said Josh Amato, Technology Coordinator for the district.

In order to keep the community informed about events at the school, each school Web site offers a personalized message from the principal, lunch menus, downloads and links, a staff directory, and a calendar of events for the building.

Although district personnel are still in the process of adding content, they are confident they will be able to keep the information current, relevant and valuable to their community.  They also want to foster two-way communication and use the Web site as a vehicle to obtain feedback.  From the home page, parents can access a survey seeking information about their satisfaction regarding classroom instruction and school policy.

Rob O’Leary has high hopes for the new design. “The district is enthusiastic about making their Web site an invaluable resource for their parents, community members, and students.  Our CMS system will help them ensure their Web site offers current and relevant information that visitors could access quickly and easily.  We will continue to support them as they add content and eventually want to incorporate new components into their system,” says O’Leary, CEO of Infinite Cohesion and creator of eSchoolview, the Content Management System.

Amato has been very pleased with eSchoolView’s customer service and continued technical support.  “From start to finish, eSchoolView is committed to making sure your website is the best it possibly can be,” says Amato.

The district knows this investment in communication will be a positive force in forging and maintaining relationships between the district and the community it serves.  The website can be found at www.piketon.k12.oh.us.
