Dublin City Schools proudly announces the launch of its new web site this week. The web site contains many new features to help keep stakeholders informed and to foster two-way communication between the school and the community.
The new web site offers easy navigation. From the home page, visitors can learn about the district, its goals and policies, read the Superintendent David Axner’s message, and access all the schools and departments in the system. Parents can also download forms and link to vital community resources from the home page.
“The district wanted to make sure their web site offered current and relevant information that visitors could access quickly and easily. They hope the site can become a true two-way system where community members know how important they are to the success of the school district because they can not only access information, but can also communicate their ideas to the school system,” said Rob O’Leary, Director of Infinite Cohesion and creator of eSchoolview, the content management system Dublin’s site uses.
The home page also helps communicate Dublin’s commitment to academic achievement, as well as its strong desire to form partnerships with families in the district. Community members can access academic data as well as the Dublin Literacy Council. They can also sign up for the parent notification system, make payments for their children’s school meals, and learn about the district’s many building initiatives. Most importantly, community members can use the Question or Suggestion Link to request information, ask questions, or suggest items the site should offer.
The site also offers a very comprehensive calendar so parents can stay up-to-date on district events. The upcoming events section features items every parent wants to remember. For quick navigation, the site also offers an “Essential for Parents” section that links them to essential information and Progress Book, the online grade book.
The district knows this investment in communication will be a positive force in forging and maintaining relationships between the district and the community it serves. The web site can be found at www.dublinschools.net.
