Hamilton Local Schools proudly announces the launch of its new web site, a totally redesigned tool to help keep parents and community members stay better informed of school events and issues. The web site also serves as a tool for parents, with easy links to their students’ teachers, grades, and necessary forms.
“We understand how busy parents in our school district are. Visitors to our site want to find information quickly and easily, and eSchoolView generated a design that focuses squarely on ease of use. We thought through the kinds of information parents need and want, and worked to create navigation from the parent perspective. The staff at eSchoolView put our needs and concerns first, and have been right there with us every step of the way. We are very happy with our web site and our partnership with Rob, James and the entire eSchoolView staff,” says Vince Payne, Public Relations Director for the district.
Parents will enjoy the way the site has set up student services information as well. Parents can gather enrollment data via the web site, download forms, and link to vital community resources from the home page. The flash photo gallery also offers parents a chance to quickly see many events happening around the district.
The new website’s intuitive navigation also appeals to the community. Visitors can easily learn about the latest district news by reading the home page articles or watching the photo gallery on the home page. The site offers links to the Board of Education’s policies and meeting times to encourage community participation. Visitors can also read Superintendent Christopher T. Lester’s message, quickly gather directory information for any staff member, or link to athletic information.
“We knew the district wanted to get as much information as possible to parents and community members in an easy format. We incorporated a rotating flash photography element into their home page, so visitors can quickly see the types of school activities occurring around the district,” said Rob O’Leary, CEO of Infinite Cohesion and creator of eSchoolView, the content management system Hamilton’s site uses. “We also spent a lot of time planning the navigation, in hopes that visitors would find the site not only informative, but easy to use.”
The site also offers a very comprehensive calendar so parents can stay up-to-date on district events. The upcoming events section highlights major events, but visitors can also view all upcoming events or choose a day from the calendar to see what is happening around the district on a particular date.
